Once upon a time when I was a teenager I was a golf caddy. Over time I befriended one of the old guys who invited me to visit him in Naples, Florida. Many years later in 2010 I made my way down south and stayed at his condo at the Wilderness Country Club.
I’m posting some of these old photos just to chronicle my trips over time (keep in mind I started this blog only in 2016). Photo of a painting in his condo that I thought was interesting.
At that period in my life I was still golfing a fair amount, and I’d say I was good by my standards. Condo was on the second floor with great views of one of the greens.
I wasn’t able to golf a whole bunch since you need to be with the member and my friend was dealing with some medical issues. Keep in mind we’re talking about an 80-year old guy. But at least one or two days he snuck me on to the course by playing/riding with me for the first hole and then dropping him off so I could continue on unimpeded.
I will say this is the first golf course I played outside of the midwest. It’s amazing the great condition it is in compared to even the best home courses. Even got to see my first alligator though not pictured here. Overall an interesting experience though not my normal type of travel.
