Went on a weekend trip with my friends from the Tacoma World forums. Home base was the Wisconsin Ridge Campground at Wyalusing State Park in Bagley, Wisconsin. We had most of the sites in the 140-150 range looking down along the Wisconsin River valley. Here’s my site – I parked all the way behind the fire ring as I was expecting someone else to share the site but they never showed.
A bit cloudy at sunset but views of the river valley were still fantastic. I doubt you can find a bad time to take in this scenery. Weather was also unseasonably warm but not unwelcome. Daytime temps in the 70’s had everyone’s spirits riding high after the long winter.
I arrived early on Thursday night, most others came on Friday after work. Here’s the start of our group filing in and setting up camp.
James was enjoying playing bartender and churning out Wisconsin Old Fashioneds left and right. We had around 20 people in total and thankfully this group is very well behaved. A good time was had by all.
Saturday morning started with sunshine and warm temperatures again. Pat and his clean FJ80 were quietly taking it all in over coffee.
After breakfast we lined up at the pavillion parking area and headed out to explore an “adventure” route across the soutwest part of the state. In total we had 17 vehicles – quite a large convoy! Stay tuned, more scenery to come in the next posts.
