Goal: Eat all the delicious pasties. Yes you read that correctly – all of them.
Pasty (pass-tee, pæsti): As they relate to my neck of the woods – Wisconsin and the Michigan U.P. – a savory meat pie that fits in your hand. Traditional filling is ground beef, potato, rutabaga, and onion; actual tradition was wives of miners filling them with listed ingredients as leftovers along with whatever else they had. Today we eat them with either ketchup or gravy which is something you can argue about with the locals. Filling combinations can get creative so be watchful for new variations as you travel.
This list is a constant work in progress. Before you travel, don’t trust my list – be sure to search online and check operating hours for yourself!
