Made a brief stop at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center in Tupelo, Mississippi to learn more about the history and culture highlighted along the route.
If you have the time I strongly recommend watching the educational film detailing what the Trace is, historic use, culture, and the modern Parkway.
There is a large history timeline display across one wall that includes things like Kaintucks, Postriders, forced removal of Native populations by the U.S. government, War of 1812, and the Civil War amongst many other topics.
Another small display on tribal history and culture with replica artifacts.
I believe there is more to see but due to (what I think was) a school fieldtrip I decided to not push through crowds of children and got back on the road.
