Last stop of the day is for what is being called Wren Falls Lower – another small waterfall a ways downstream from the main Wren Falls. This one isn’t marked on the maps but you can see it on overhead Google Earth views. I parked in the only wide spot off Wren Falls Trail road and searched for a path.
I found a spot that looks like it has been traveled by human feet but it was tricky to locate. The forest is very dense here and you could easily mistake this as a game trail.
Looking down the trail you can see how steep this descent is. I even had to scoot on my butt a few times where it was really slick or steep. I can’t stress this enough – be careful if you choose to go here, I’m not responsible for you getting injured!
Once you slip & slide to the bottom the rest is easy. Almost immediately you can see the falls and it’s just steps around some bushes & trees to get a clear line of sight. (PS – Apologies for the potato quality of the last 4 images, they are all video screengrabs since I was too busy trying not to fall on my ass instead of taking pictures!)
Here’s the direct view of the falls. I’d say the drop is somewhere between 5 to 7 feet but I don’t usually bring a tape measure along in my backpack.
Here’s another direct view from a slightly closer distance to give more detail.
And finally here is one last look to include the small sidestream on the right. With that, it’s time to scramble back up the cliff before I can’t see where I’m walking. Based on Google Earth views there may even be more falls and rapids upstream but it’s difficult to say for sure. Guaranteed I will be back here in the future to explore further.
Video
Here’s a short video of the falls, and of me nearly falling down the hill to get there. I forgot to put it in the video but I did carry out the beer can that I kicked – please don’t litter people!
Hiking Data
Definitely not a long hike, nor is it a difficult hike per se, but it can be a dangerous hike due to the steep and slippery hill. I strongly recommend NOT trying this when the ground is wet. Trekking poles are also not a bad idea. Be safe.
Again you can see the stats confirm it isn’t a very long hike. Feels like more than 40 feet elevation change down that hill but I’ll trust the app.

Hi Adam… I see you had fun getting to this one… I first tried to get there when there was snow on the ground… gave that up quickly and went back in the summer… still a difficult trek, but doable! There is no trail that I could find!
I definintely got lucky and found that tiny footpath/game trail. Can’t imagine trying it during winter, you were smart to turn back on that trip! I think there are more falls/rapids upstream based on what I saw & heard, and the Google Earth view shows some things too. Lots of hidden features in that area, I’ll be back there again for sure.
