Nebraska Welcome Sign

Quick stop at the Nebraska welcome sign on NE-71 in the far northwest corner of the state. Maps show it as being in Harrison, Nebraska but it’s really not all that close. That being said there is pretty much zero signs of other human life around these parts so maybe that is the closest town? Sign has the state motto “The Good Life” as well as “Home of Arbor Day” as well as an assortment of stickers and a spattering of bullet holes. Yee haw.

This part of the state is also home to the Oglala National Grasslands, a huge 94,000 acre expanse that contains wildlife, varied landscapes, a huge fossil bed, geologic formations, and more. Didn’t spot any pronghorns during my drive today but it was fun trying to spot them as I drove along.

OK the moment has passed, onwards we go!
