I was late arriving to the Rapid City area last night but found open sites at the Sheridan Lake South Shore Campground. Temperatures were pretty warm for the season and I only had one neighbor nearby who were quiet which made for some peaceful sleep. Unfortunately I couldn’t see anything when I got there and picked a site away from the lake so my views weren’t as spectacular as they could have been. But here’s what I saw looking across the other occupied campsite. Not bad.
And here’s what I saw climbing out of my truck bed. Almost nobody in that direction except some RVs down at the end loop which are pretty far off. Surprisingly no wind up here atop this ridge, just peaceful quiet forest. If only I could bottle up the smell of the ponderosa pines and bring it home, ahhh…
PS – Nothing to exciting here, mainly sharing so that I can drop a pin on my blog’s geomap (click here to see it). More activities for the day to come soon!
