Ozark National Scenic Riverway – Big Spring Campground

Tonight’s campground was a happy accident – I didn’t intend to end up here, I was just driving north towards home and this was the best stopping point I could find. Truth be told I knew nothing about the site; it was a road sign that led me here as the daylight was fading. That light ended sooner than scheduled as thick clouds were rolling in and quickly turned to rain.

The campground was uneventful and well-maintained. Not much to see but thankfully the rain didn’t last long and wasn’t heavy. I ate dinner by lantern light and scouted the map a bit before turning in early.

We did have some excitement around 4am as some isolated thunderstorms blew through. Have I ever mentioned how the storms seem to know my precise pinpoint location?

Tomorrow morning I get to explore this “Big Spring”…what do you reckon it is?
