Couchsurfed at a place in Cody, Wyoming. My hosts were extremely friendly, knowledgeable about Yellowstone, and even made me pancakes! Cody has several herds of protected deer that inhabit the city streets. Upon arrival, one showed up and started eating the landscaping 5 feet away!

Author’s note: I am revisiting old posts from my 2016 road trip because I posted all of them from my cell phone and some of them are a bit of a mess. Main reason is to properly edit photos rather than just having what came out of my phone camera, and to include higher res photos from my mirrorless camera that never got published. Additionally some of the locations on the Geomap are wrong or often have multiple locations in a single post. OG text should be captured in a summary field when available.

Couchsurfed at a place in Cody, WY. My host Paladin and his wife Donna were extremely friendly, knowledgeable about Yellowstone, and even made me pancakes! Cody has several herds of protected deer that inhabit the city streets. Upon arrival, one showed up and started eating the landscaping 5 feet away! The next morning I visited the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. This includes 5 separate exhibits that were all very interesting. Worth the trip if you are ever there, and the cashier hooked me up with a half price admission since it was slow. Also stopped at the historic Irma in suggestion for the parents. Cool old place with lots of big game taxidermy and early era styling. Next up heading to Yellowstone!
